krishna n chaitanya

 a freind, chaitanya(name not changed),asked me to come with him to iskcon(kolkata) for a lecture and thereafter ask philosophical questions which r makin me itch. frankly im not much of a beleiver but i do beleive that god is one tool which is keepin a lot of us sane, thank GOD!!! Chiat is a firm beleiver  not that he's intolerant of faithlees freaks but on the contrary likes to help em to discover the guiding star. Unshod we entered the iszcon centre with paper token no. 205. Un(fortunately)  the lecture was delayed and aarti n bhajan was goin on instead.anywayz we entered the hall where loud bhajan kirtan music was being played n a rocking devotee was singing his heart out on the mic, playing with his vocal chords n enjoin the intoxicating atmosphere, while a motley group of devotees were dancin this fixed iskcon dance step with their heads bowed totally immersed in lord krishna. chait had prostrated before entering the hall and was singin along with others while i was takin in the whole spiritual enegy emanating from the event when he suddenly pointed at the statues n told me who lord krishna, radha n chaitanya were. Gradually the music got fast n a lot of other devotees joined in and the floor started shakin with every synchronised step(now a jump) which was noticed by 1 of the devotees who told others 2 be careful, when the singing devotee swished his hand and told everyone not 2 worry as lord krishna was lookin over them. after the tempo had changed to a medium beat concentric circles of human chains were made n the devotees started dancing in and away from the centre, all this while i was also noticing this short,dark n energetic little devotee who was totally takin in bye the spiritual force fo sri krishna and was totally totally away from the real world, suddenly this same guy came out of the formation n started drawin in outsiders whick included both of us.  at first we were awkward but then "what the hell", we 2 sarted enjoin ourselves n passin smiles whenever our eyes met(chait was at the other end of the circle). there were other formations also which made us clap each others hands to the beat of the music n sometimes 2 devotees would hold hands and spin around relly fast in circles their feet shufflin at the cyclonic eye and their head laid back loookin nowhere just spinning. is this emotional attachment to the god who preaches detachment practical, numbers n commonsense definitely say yes but a rational mind still thinks of the same as a necessary tool.
